Anytime a former No. 1 pick comes available, NBA teams cannot help but take a look — even if that player has been a total bust.

Power forward Anthony Bennett will hit the open market after reportedly agreeing on a buyout with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, per Yahoo! Sports, and there certainly will be some interest around the league. Will the Heat be one of the teams that calls?

The 15-man roster for 2015-16 is essentially set, but Miami is always tempted by reclamation projects. Bennett, the first pick in the 2013 draft, is 6-foot-8, 240 pounds and still just 22 years old.

However, Bennett has been a tremendous failure his first two years in the league. Cleveland happily unloaded him after a dismal rookie season (4.2 points and three rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game while shooting 35.6 percent), and was not much better last season in Minnesota (5.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 12.8 minutes, 42.1 percent shooting).

If there is any intrigue from the Heat, the best scenario for Bennett would be a chance to impress the team in training camp and put himself on their radar for an opportunity if someone gets injured or traded at some point.
